Guide to boating from Donaueschingen to Passau.
Here you will find an overview of the boat rentals.
A handy guide for boating enthusiasts provides both important and useful information on the approximately 600 km stretch of river and includes details on river kilometrage, designated embarkation and disembarkation points, portage instructions for carrying vessels overland to avoid weirs and power stations, safety tips, places of interest on both sides of the river and lots more.
The brochure is based on descriptions of the river compiled by the German or, respectively, the Bavarian Canoeing Association. Please send EUR 0.55 in stamps to the following address if you would like to receive a copy of the guide to boating:

Registration plates compulsory from Kelheim onwards
Small, non-motorised vessels are exempt from the legal requirement of registration plates. Such vessels must, however, display a name printed in 10 cm high characters on both sides of the vessel, and the name and address of the owner of the boat must be displayed at a conspicuous point on the inside or outside of the vessel. Such plates are not required if the boat has registration plates.
