Map of the Danube / Neu-Ulm
Neu-Ulm is the capital of the Neu-Ulm district. The town was founded in the year 1810 through Napoleon Bonaparte's Paris Treaty and received its town charter from King Ludwig II in 1869.
Today the young town on the Danube has 50,000 inhabitants and a lot to offer in the cultural and tourist sector.
Places to see:
Parish church of St. John the Baptist (1921-27 by Dominikus Böhm), Water tower (1900, landmark of Neu-Ulm), Glacis town park (with fortifications, events' area and restaurants).
Edwin Scharff Building (centre for cultural events and conferences).
Edwin Scharff Museum with exhibitions for children and teenagers (sculptures, paintings and graphics by Neu-Ulm artists), Walther Collection (private collection of international photography and video art).
