Interesting tour of the Prince-Bishops' Renaissance castle in Obernzell with a branch museum of the Bavarian National Museum of Ceramics. Discover vinegar jugs, four-cornered bowl tiles, once hidden wall paintings and find out why the dromedary in the ballroom cannot carry more than it can.

Expedition 2: Renaissance-Schloss, Market and Rokoko-Pfarrkirche

Find out how the church prince Urban von Trennbach transformed the late medieval castle into a representative castle of the Renaissance and why Obernzell was once called Hafnerzell. Walk with us through the historic market with its colorful house facades and old fountains to the double-towered Rococo parish church, whose altarpiece by Paul Troger shows us the Assumption of Mary and between whose two towers there is a Lourdes chapel.
