Start Sigmaringen
This fitness tour begins in Sigmaringen and leads along the Danube cycling path in the direction of Riedlingen to Sigmaringendorf. It then goes on to the plateau of the Alb and through the delightful Lautertal back to Sigmaringen. Next to great nature experiences, like for example a view of the Austrian and Swiss Alps (depending on the weather), this tour also includes many cultural and historical highlights. The Hohenzollern castle in Sigmaringen sits majestically above the Danube. Its doors are open to visitors from March until December. Throughout the year there are also some great medieval events at the Hornstein ruin. Experience the times of principality by visiting the oldest church in Hohenzollern in Veringendorf. Be prepared to get scared in the museum in Veringenstadt, which is located in the more than 500 year old city hall. The original gown of the city’s last witch is exhibited there. The witch wore this gown when she was decapitated in 1608.
