THE SURPRISING CITY
The large district city of Tuttlingen is embedded in the lovely nature, directly next to the Danube cycle path. It is an ideal starting point to discover the five certified “Donauwellen” hiking trails. Tuttlingen inter alia offers a leisure pool and spa, a remarkable art and culture program, an art nouveau city church, a castle ruin with a beautiful view and many green oases.
The city of Tuttlingen surprises you with a river without water. In the city district “Möhringen”, the Danube seeps into the soil during the whole year, in the summer months even completely. Prerequisites for this natural spectacle are the calcareous stone layers from the Jurassic age from which a large part of the Swabian Alb is built. The seeped water reaches the surface again at the “Aach source”.
